North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust provides mental health, social care and learning disability services across the West Midlands. We work from both hospital and community settings, operating from approximately 30 sites serving a population of approximately 464,000 people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.  We have a strong national profile; recognised as the Provider of the Year in 2019 in the Leading Healthcare Awards and recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.  Our high quality services are supported by robust financial management and we have achieved balance or surplus for the last 20 years. This is an exciting time to join our team, build on our solid platform and further develop our reputation and commitment as a collaborative partner in our local and regional health and care system.

We are seeking an ambitious clinical leader to work with our new Chief Executive, Peter Axon, and our talented and high engaged workforce to lead the Trust into the next phase of our journey. Our new Director of Nursing and Quality will provide visible and professional leadership to our nursing, social workers and AHP workforce, inspiring a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.  Setting the highest standards of quality and care for our service users and their families; you will also work with our partners across the region, to influence and shape the future of health and care services as we seek to provide a more integrated offer to our population through a new alliance of health and care providers across the public, independent and voluntary sectors.

A registered nurse, you will be experienced working at, or close, to Board level, with a track record of delivering transformation, quality improvement and innovation in health and care service delivery, within a mental health and/or learning disabilities environment. Comfortable in shaping the strategic direction of an organisation and liaising with stakeholders at the highest level; your approachable and inclusive style will allow you to engage and empower both our staff and service users. Most of all you will share our values and commitment to being outstanding in all we do.
